Thank you to all of those who have helped us to reach 100,000 signatures on our open letter. This is a significant milestone, which shows the support that exists for the trans+ community and allows us to push back against the narratives that women wish to exclude trans people.
Now we want to share NION’s message and vision directly with decision makers – starting with MPs. Our voice is more important than ever in light of last week’s updated Code of Practice from the EHRC, which has now been submitted to Parliament.*
To this end, representatives of NION Women will soon be holding an in-person event in Parliament, hosted by Kate Osborne MP.
This event will be an opportunity for MPs to find out more about NION’s work, hear directly about the experiences and perspectives of the women involved, and receive information about the level of support for trans inclusion in their specific constituency.
We’d like as many MPs as possible to come along to our event – and that’s where you come in.
We’d love it if you could write to your MP to invite them to attend.
You can write whether you are female, male, cis, trans or non-binary.
To make this as easy as possible, please see our step-by-step guide below.
- Go to the WriteToThem website and type in your postcode.
- Use our template letter below, to help compose your message.
- Make sure you personalise your letter (don’t just copy and paste). Write in your own words as much as you can, as this will make sure it is not rejected by the system and that your MP pays proper attention to your correspondence.
- Write or paste your personalised message into the message box on the WriteToThem website.
- Fill in your name and contact details.
- Click “preview”, and once you are happy with your letter, hit “send”.
Note: we are not making the day and time of the event public to avoid possible disruption, but the invite from Kate Osbourne MP will already have informed MPs of these details.

LETTER TEMPLATE
(be sure to personalise 💗)
Email Subject (optional): Constituent ask: Meet NION Women
As your constituent, I am writing to highlight that you will have received an email from Kate Osborne MP inviting you to attend the upcoming NION (Not In Our Name) Women’s Parliamentary event, which she is hosting.
I am writing as your constituent, and as one of the 100,000+ women who have signed NION Women’s open letter in support of trans people and trans inclusion.
My request is simple – that you attend this event and meet women who, like me, feel strongly that trans+ people should be treated with dignity and respect. You will also get the opportunity to find out exactly how many of your own constituents have signed NION’s open letter which you can access at notinourname.org.uk.
The loudest voices in this debate would have you believe that women like me don’t exist. We do, and we need you to listen.
This feels particularly urgent right now. The EHRC’s updated Code of Practice dropped last week and is already before Parliament. It is being presented as a reasonable compromise, but whatever the headlines may be saying – many of us don’t see it that way. We feel it is vital that you hear from the women in your own constituency before you’re asked to respond to it.
Add something personal here – your own experience or reason for caring. It doesn’t have to be long. It just has to be you. Personalising your letter in this way really helps MPs listen and makes sure your correspondence isn’t rejected by the system.
Women face real and pressing issues: misogyny, inequality, male violence, difficulties accessing healthcare, and growing threats to reproductive rights. Trans exclusion solves none of these. I hope the evidence of 100,000+ signatures gives you the confidence to say so, in your constituency work and in Parliament.
I do hope you will attend this NION Women event.
Yours sincerely,

* Following the laying of the EHRC’s updated Code of Practice in Parliament, a number of trans organisations are also working hard to make sure trans+ and ally voices are being heard by politicians.
As part of this, our friends at Trans+ Solidarity Alliance are organising a Mass Lobby event in Parliament for Thursday 25th June. We wanted to take the opportunity to let you know about this event here, and we will share more about this soon 😊 www.transsolidarityalliance.com/mass-lobby-2026
As always, please continue to share our letter – Not In our Name: Women in support of the trans+ community far and wide, and encourage as many cis women allies to sign as possible.
